Corvus Technology Solutions has opened a manufacturing facility in Victoria to support local defence production. The Bayswater North operation will make in-arm suspension units for the Australian Army’s AS21 Redback vehicles, assembled by Hanwha Defence Australia at Avalon.
Victoria’s government expects the development to create 49 skilled jobs and generate an estimated A$45 million in supply-chain benefits over six years. The site will also support Corvus’ UAV Launcher programme. The company said an electric EL10 unit was being prepared for customer shipment.

Local production and international partners
At the facility opening (https://corvustechnologysolutions.com/corvus-opens-new-defence-tech-facility/), Colin Brooks, Nick Williams, Jin-Kwan OH, Richard Marshall and Byongkeon Kim signed the first Victorian-made suspension unit. Corvus is collaborating with Hanwha Defence Australia on the Redback programme under LAND 400 Phase 3.
The manufacturing operation follows Corvus’ 2024 contract to produce nearly 2,000 suspension units for Hanwha. The Victorian Government’s April 2025 case study valued that contract at A$100 million. Corvus had also received a Supply Chain Uplift Program grant to improve security and regulatory compliance.
Manufacturing and supplier development
Corvus’ Melbourne capabilities encompass manufacturing, precision machining, assembly, integration and testing, alongside project management. Its supplier development takes place within Victoria’s wider land-systems industrial programme.
The Victorian Land Systems Fund supports companies seeking to join or expand their role in Hanwha’s supply chain. Its Supply Chain Uplift Program provides grants with matching business funding on a one-to-one basis for:
- Expanding industrial capabilities.
- Innovation and testing new products.
- Improving businesses’ prospects of securing defence contracts.

Cooperation with MNC Solution
Corvus and South Korea’s MNC Solution signed a memorandum of understanding at Seoul ADEX on Oct 21, 2025. Their cooperation covered defence technology, education and production facilities, and local technology transfer.
MNC Solution had supported the establishment of local production infrastructure and technical training for the Redback suspension programme. In October 2025, Corvus planned to begin full-scale Australian production in June 2026. MNC Solution announced the cooperation agreement on Oct 22, 2025.
